The Little Marathoner

Doug & Angel have finished 13 marathons together and they are going on a marathon fundraising campaign. Doug and Angel will be running all over the country to RAISE MONEY AND AWARENESS. If you are in the area and would like to join them for a few miles please email Doug so he can keep an eye out for you.

Angel now rides in greater comfort and style in a "Kimba Cross" jogging stroller donated by Minneapolis, MN-based Otto Bock HealthCare. Using custom wheelchair seating, the Kimba Cross is the best pediatric positioning jogging stroller available due to its high level of security, flexibility and easy handling, even in rugged terrain.....Thank you OTTO BOCK.....Angel loves her new ride and can't wait to do another marathon.

Angel was born in 2001 with several birth defects and only a portion of her brain. After numerous surgeries that included implanting a shunt in her head, Angel continues to improve. Of course, her Dad loves Angel more than he loves running. Before her birth, Doug Hansen had already completed 15 marathons. After her birth, Doug decided it was time to raise awareness and funds to help make a difference in the lives of special needs children. So when Angel was ready, her dad began pushing her mile after mile in a baby jogger and they both began to “run” marathons together. Recently a Otto Bock Health Care - Minneapolis based company donated a pediatric positioning jogging stroller that makes Angels rides a lot safer and more comfortable. Their goal is to complete 100 marathons together and to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs.

I would also like to thank Gu Sports for their support. I would not be able to compete & complete the marathons with out their support!

*** Upcoming Marathons ***...

Doug & Angel are still working on their marathon schedule for 2008.....we will try our best to run and enjoy meeting new runners!

Last year before the 4th Angel's Run I can down with Mono / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It has been a tough and tiring year.

I had to cancel our remaining marathons planned for 2007.....In 2008 it is about getting my health back and running a few marathons with Angel.

San Diego Rock N Roll - June 1, 2008.........we will be running and finishing our 14th marathon!

Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon - October 1, 2006 - Home of Medtronic & Otto Bock Health Care - Angel was selected as GLOBAL HERO for the Marathon. Thank you to Medtronic for the wonderful trip and beautiful trophy!

I was given the wonderful opportunity to carry the Olympic Torch in Honor of my daughter. On June 16, 2004 I carried the torch to make my daughter PROUD!
