OCME (ORANGE COUNTY MODEL ENGINEERS) has come a long way since they started building The Mackerel Flats and Goat Hill Junction Railroad in 1988. Their biggest accomplishment is giving over 400,000 rides to the public since 1989. All this has been made possible by over 12,000 volunteer hours each year and the funds donated by you and other interested individuals and groups.

Believe it or not the none of the 400,000 rides have been to individuals in wheelchairs!

Angels Charity and OCME have joined forces to bring the train at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa accessible to accommodate riders in wheel chairs.

At this time we are asking the public to show their support for the project by signing this petition and/or writing a letter of support.

If you write a letter please mail it to Angels Charity by August 1, 2007 and express in your letter the benefits you have had over the years riding the trains and why you support the modifications to accommodate handicapped riders in wheel chairs. Let the City know that the OCME is a valuable part of Fairview Park and the City of Costa Mesa.

The petitions and letters will be presented to the City of Costa Mesa at meetings in the Fall of 2007.
